The Brenda Photo Challenge ---- Black and White Self Portrait.

This is my very first black and white photo challenge as well as my very first black and white self portrait.
I admitt I hate having my picture taken so I was reluctant to join in this challenge at first but after some thinking I came up with two ideas that  you can see here.
Please remember to hop over to see the other entries at the Brenda Photo Challenge Blog. Thank you!

In this first picture I used my photo editing program.
I first took a picture of my eye using the self timer and later took another one of my profile which I pasted on the iris of my eye photograph.

I tried several times to take this picture and after many attempts I chose the one that turned out best, I kept cleaning the mirror's surface... it's unbelievable how the tiny specks of dust show up in black and white.
Brenda, thanks for another great challenge!

The Brenda Photo Challenge ---- Childhood Memories

I am really loving all these photo challenges lately and
here I am once again with my entries for "The Brenda Photo Challenge".
The subject for this challenge is ... Childhood Memories.
There's a never ending list to the things that remind me of my youth but these pictures pick out just a few.

Please visit the other entries on Brenda's Photo Challenge Blog, you will find the list here.

Blue ribbons remind me of "Girls in white dresses and blue satin sashes"
just like the song "My Favorite Things"  In the picture
both my sister and I are wearing white dresses with blue satin sashes
and every time I see blue ribbons I remember this photograph.
I edited the original black and white picture, as you can see, with some pale blue on the ribbon sashes and in our hair.

Marbles!!!
They bring back fond memories of hours of happy playtime with my brother and our childhood friends.

Seashells remind me of hot Summer childhood days spent on the beach , we loved looking for seashells in the sand.

So many years have gone by but I still treasure these beautiful memories.

The Brenda Photo Challenge ---- Antiques

Hello friends!
It is once again time for The Brenda Photo Challenge. This month's topic is - Antiques.
I am not a collector of Antiques but I do have a few pieces that date back to the early 19th and 20th centuries, they are all family heirlooms.  Please, remember to take a look at the other blogs taking part in this challenge once you have finished looking at my pictures, you can see the list of participants here.

This mantle clock belonged to my grandma and later to my mum.
I think it is a Victorian piece since it carries a date on the back  - 1824.

This key opens the lock to the chest trunk in the picture below.

This chest trunk belonged to my husband's grandmother.
We had it restored  because somebody had painted it all in green.
As you may have noticed, the items on top of the trunk
have nothing to do with antiques.

This is another piece that once belonged to my husband's grandmother.
It is the only piece left of a whole tea set.

Thanks, Brenda , this was another interesting Challenge  that I really enjoyed !
I'm looking forward to the next one!

The Brenda Photo Challenge ---- Temptations!

This is the very first time my new blog is taking part in the "Brenda Photo Challenge"  I had always participated in the past challenges using my other blog which is really a craft blog so from now on I will be using this one for all the future photo challenges.
This month's topic is "Temptations".  I am using some old pictures for this challenge, the first one is a picture taken during a holiday in Canada 27 years ago, the little girl is my daughter  she was only 3 years old then. The quality of the picture isn't good as I had to take a copy of  the original with my digital camera since my scanner broke down.
The second picture was taken last Christmas, the red Santa was a temptation to our cat Toddy, he kept trying to pull it off the branch but it survived the season.
The last one was taken during an excursion  in the north of Italy in a Natural Park and  shows an "off limits" bridge ... crossing was forbidden  (the sign says "Vietato Attraversare" which means " Crossing Forbidden") and even if the curiosity, to see what was on the other side, was great  we did not give in to the temptation.
I loved this challenge and I am really looking forward to see what Brenda will come up with, for the next challenge.
After checking out my pictures, please click here to see  photos of the other participants! Enjoy!
Thank you for visiting!
