The Brenda Photo Challenge ---- Antiques

Hello friends!
It is once again time for The Brenda Photo Challenge. This month's topic is - Antiques.
I am not a collector of Antiques but I do have a few pieces that date back to the early 19th and 20th centuries, they are all family heirlooms.  Please, remember to take a look at the other blogs taking part in this challenge once you have finished looking at my pictures, you can see the list of participants here.

This mantle clock belonged to my grandma and later to my mum.
I think it is a Victorian piece since it carries a date on the back  - 1824.

This key opens the lock to the chest trunk in the picture below.

This chest trunk belonged to my husband's grandmother.
We had it restored  because somebody had painted it all in green.
As you may have noticed, the items on top of the trunk
have nothing to do with antiques.

This is another piece that once belonged to my husband's grandmother.
It is the only piece left of a whole tea set.

Thanks, Brenda , this was another interesting Challenge  that I really enjoyed !
I'm looking forward to the next one!

  3. Thank YOU Miz Sue. Your antiques are wonderful! The old trunk brings back memories of an old trunk my Grandmother used to have on her front porch. I love the others too, the mantle clock is so precious!

  6. Great choice Sue : ) The mantle clock brought back some happy memories of when we shared a bedroom and it used to sit on our bookcase, who knows how many times we dusted it and never once thought anything of how old and precious it was!

    1. Donna, thanks for your comment. No, the clock doesn't work. I tried to get it repaired but some parts are missing and they don't make these parts anymore. I keep it on my bedroom chest of drawers , just for decoration.
